My thanks to Eduardo Uranga for the photos he sent me yesterday of the Ávalos Colony pool. These were taken in 1968 and 1970. Eduardo recalls there are many stories about the Colony pool. He remembers the eight apple trees that someone planted around the pool and eating fresh apples after a swim. He offered thanks to whoever planted the trees in such a beautiful place.
I received a comment from Oscar who enjoyed the same pool but in 1992. He had the opportunity to give swimming classes to a lot of children. The company offered the lessons to the employees children. Thanks for sharing this Oscar!
If anyone happens to recognize people in the photos, please let me know.
Hi my name is Sylvia Enriquez Bronimann and I lived in Avalos since I was 5 years old until I got married in 1975. my parents lived there until 1992. When we arrived we used to live in house #7 and after several years we move to house #31.
I recognize on picture #3, from left to right first person is Jesus Loya, next Rosa Uranga, four people in between I don’t know,7th person Gela Diaz, next Rodolfo Gamez.
It is nice to see so many familiar faces.
